News: Project Complete in Derbyshire - Protecting DVA Pipes using Vibration Monitoring

Ground vibration monitoring was conducted directly above two Derwent Valley Aqueduct pipes whilst critical ground remediation works were being carried out by our long-time, valued customer. This monitoring is essential to ensure that the structural integrity of the aqueduct is maintained throughout the duration of the project.

The asset owners have established stringent guidelines for vibration levels, setting very low thresholds that the site team must adhere to during the remediation activities. This is a proactive measure aimed at minimizing the impact of the construction works on the aqueduct, which is a vital infrastructure component in the region. The importance of protecting such an asset cannot be overstated, as any damage could lead to significant disruptions in water supply and costly repairs.

The site team worked diligently to manage and control vibration levels during these operations, utilizing advanced techniques and technology to monitor vibrations in real-time. By prioritizing safety and environmental considerations, we are fostering a collaborative approach with our client that ensures the successful completion of the remediation works while safeguarding critical infrastructure.
